Carter Park has six free dedicated outdoor hard courts with permanent lines, nets, and lights. Bathrooms, parking, a playground, and other neighborhood-park amenities sit nearby. Hastings Parks and Recreation offers low-cost indoor pickleball sessions for $15 per participant, and Carter Park provides six regulation courts for outdoor practice. Leagues and Tournaments

Hastings supports a local ladder league and several recurring tournaments. The 2026 Rivertown Days tournament ran July 18 and 19 with men's and women's doubles organized by skill, including 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0+ brackets. The Parks and Recreation Kool-Aid Days tournament returned to Carter Park on August 15. What Visiting Players Should Know

Carter Park is the clear first stop: six free dedicated courts, permanent nets, lights, parking, and bathrooms are together at the south-central park. Bring paddles and balls only. The YMCA is the reliable indoor alternative and allows court reservations, but it is membership-based, so visitors should arrange guest access through the front desk. Carter Park's lighting makes it especially useful for travelers arriving after work or late in the day.
